Andreas Kemna received a diploma (1995) in Geophysics from the University of Cologne and a PhD (2000) in Geophysics from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. From 1991 to 2000, he worked for the DMT Company in Essen, Germany, in the field of exploration, engineering, and environmental geophysics, interrupted by employment as a Research Assistant in the Environmental Science Department at Lancaster University, UK, in 1996. In 2000, he joined the Institute of Chemistry and Dynamics of the Geosphere at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, where he established and led the Hydrogeophysical Imaging and Characterization Group in the Agrosphere section (ICG 4). In 2007, he was appointed Full Professor of Applied Geophysics in the Department of Geodynamics and Geophysics at the University of Bonn, Germany. His research interests are hydrogeophysics and environmental geophysics, including in particular geophysical imaging methods. He is a member of SEG, AGU, EEGS, EGU, and the German Geophysical Society (DGG).
