AndrĂ©  Pugin
Associate Editor

André Pugin has held the position of Engineering and Groundwater Geophysicist at the Geological Survey of Canada, Ottawa, since 2006. His interest in glacial basin architecture has driven him to test, develop, and use various geophysical techniques, including high-resolution seismic reflection using 3-component landstreamers, to obtain detailed images of subsurface architecture and depositional information. He obtained his doctorate at the University of Geneva in Switzerland in 1989. After several post-doctoral positions at the University of Toronto, the University of Geneva, and ETH Zurich, he joined the Illinois State Geological Survey in 2000. He has been involved in many collaborative applied geophysics projects in Europe, America, and Asia for solving environmental, hydrogeological, geotechnical, and climatic problems. He is a member of SEG, EEGS, EAGE, and AGU and a Fellow Member of GSA.
