Mark Goldman received an MSc (1970) in Geophysics from the Novosibirsk State University and a PhD (1974) in Geophysics from the Russian (former USSR) Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch. Since his immigration to Israel in 1979, he has been permanently employed by the Geophysical Institute of Israel (GII), as the Head of the Geoelectric Department in the last 15 years. In addition, he joined Haifa University as a Principal Research Associate in 2009. Intermittently, he has worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Colorado School of Mines (1982–1983), CSIR, South Africa (1991–1992), the University of Cologne, Germany (1992–1993), and the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory (2006–2007). Since 1992, he has held grade “A”, which is equivalent to Associate Professor at universities, according to the Israeli Civil Service Scientific Researcher’s Scale. His research interests are the development and application of geoelectric and electromagnetic geophysical techniques both on land and at sea. He is a member of SEG and IGS.
