Dr Panos Tsourlos holds a degree in Geology (1991) from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a PhD in Geophysics (1995) from the University of York (U.K.).
He worked as a geophysical consultant until 2000 when he joined the Department of Geophysics in the School of Geology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
His main research field is the numerical modeling and inversion of geoelectrical data. His research interest is in the application of geophysical techniques in near surface geophysical problems.
Author of more than 40 ISI journal papers and of more than 70 journal and proceedings publications.
Recipient of the University of York “K.M. Stott” prize for distinguished postgraduate research work, best paper award in NSG 2008. In 2011 he was a Korean Federation of Science and Technology “Brainpool” programme grandee.
