Michele  Cercato

 Michele Cercato is currently an Assistant Professor (researcher) in Applied Geophysics in the Department of Civil, Environmental  and Building Engineering (DICEA) at the “Sapienza” University of Rome, Italy, where he previously graduated cum laude (2000) in  Environmental and Land Engineering, received a PhD in Applied Geophysics (2006), and served as a Post-doctoral Fellow between  2007 and 2010. His main scientific interests are related to shallow seismic characterization and imaging, surface waves, and  geophysical inversion, focusing on civil engineering and geotechnical applications (infrastructures, landslides, differential  settlements, and geohazards) and seismic site effects evaluation (microzonation). He is a member of the Italian Association of  Engineers and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).
