Maurizio  Fedi

 Maurizio Fedi is Full Professor of Applied Geophysics at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy). He is Coordinator of the  Doctorate ‘Earth  Science, Environment and Resources’, University of Naples Federico II, and the Director of the Laboratory of  Archaeo-geophysics, INNOVA (Italy). From 2004 to 2006, he was President of the Italian SEG-EAGE section. He has been a  member of EAGE, EGU, SEG and LAC, and of organizing committees for international conferences. He has been a convener of  sessions in EGU, was the General Chairman of the EGM 2007 and EGM 2010 International Workshops in Capri (Italy) and EAGE  work-shops on potential field and electromagnetic methods. He has been a Keynote Speaker at international conferences, such  as AOGS, SAGA, GM Hangzhou and EUG. He was a Visiting Professor at CUGB, Beijing, China; and was a recipient of the CSIR  Distinguished Foreign Scientist Award at NGRI, Hyderabad, India and the Loránd Eötvös Award 2010 (EAGE). He has been Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor, an Associate Editor, a referee, and a member of the editorial boards of many geophysical journals. His research activity is presently aimed at the interpretation of gravity, magnetic and electromagnetic data in geological, archaeological, and environmental studies; 3D inversion; automatic or semi-automatic methods for depth estimation of sources; discrete and continuous wavelet analysis; multiscale methods; and fractal and multifractal analysis of geophysical data.
